Would wet burn pads work on a healing tattoo?
http://www.walgreens0o0com/store/catalog/B…
I used these a few years back when I got a bad burn at work, and they're meant to keep burns moist while they heal, and it sounds to me like something like that might work well for a healing tattoo. Like during the day its ok for me to leave the tattoo exposed with lotion on it, but I'm worried about at night, because its on my arm, and I sleep with my arms under my pillow, so I was thinking about using one of these pads just while I sleep. Would that be okay, or would it just mess everything up?

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters omg no!! after you take the initial bandage off your tattoo when it is first done, you should never reapply any type of bandage, or covering. (including, but not limited to cling wrap, dressing, any thing that covers your tattoo) this is why: yes, tattoos need oxygen to breathe and most importantly heal properly.AND warm moist places are a breeding ground for bacteria. using any type of covering on your tattoo is a bad idea. your tattoo is not suppsed to be wet all the time. just keep it clean and a VERY small amount of a non scented water based lotion. when you put it on, it should not look glossy or shiney. if it does, you applied too much, and should gently dab it off with a clean paper towel. overmoisturizing your tattoo can lead to scabbing and losing color. tattoos are not supposed to scab. they are supposed to flake off naturally in light flakes. sleeping on your arm will not mess up your tattoo. just try not to violoently rub it around while you are sleeping! Personally, i wouldnt use them – i have 9 tattoos and all of mine have been fine by using a good quality cream to keep it moist and patting it dry when it gets wet. If you really want to keep it moist while you sleep, out some lotion/cream on the tattoo and wrap in clingfilm Source(s): personal experience
I have multiple tattoos. and I don't think that is a good idea. aquphor is the best stuff to use I use it and it is awesome.! I would not worry abuot sleeping on it cause I have tattoos on my back and I have slept on them and I was fine. Good luck. and remember it needs to breath.! Source(s): my tattoos

I would not … I only use unscented lotion on it, don't gob it on either – just a thin layer to keep it moist and from excess scabbing One of my tattoos was on my side right along my pant line .. I was worried that with pants rubbing on it I would have a lot of problemsI wore sweat pants and things like that for the first week so it wasn't a rough material like jeans against it .. but considering I still had something lightly against it often times in the day and it still looks great I wouldn't over worry yourself over your pillows. If you can try to fall asleep a different way as precaution then go for it
