   Best Answer – Chosen by Voters if it's your first ticket you may get probation. if you don't get that, then yes your ins will go up

   If they find out it will. Sign up for traffic school, usually they don't report the ticket and they don't take points off your license and the insurance stays the same. It's worth it.

   Ask your insurance company. Some companies let the first offense slide and do not charge you. Otherwise, yes, you will get points, and will pay a higher rate for approx. 3 years. Source(s): I work in insurance in NC

   I agree with the previous post. When I got my first speeding ticket, I opted to take traffic school for the ticket to stay off of my insurance. It was a one day class on a Saturday and it last from like 8-1 or something like that. It was truly worth it.
