Will car insurance go up if I get a speeding ticket?
Will my car insurance rate go up if I got a speeding ticket? Im in California. This is the first one ever, and I've been driving for about 4 years now. Anyone with an answer? Thanks in advance!

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters if it's your first ticket you may get probation. if you don't get that, then yes your ins will go up
You are much too dumb to operate an automobile.
Yes it will go up.
If they find out it will. Sign up for traffic school, usually they don't report the ticket and they don't take points off your license and the insurance stays the same. It's worth it.
it may but would take about a year.
Ask your insurance company. Some companies let the first offense slide and do not charge you. Otherwise, yes, you will get points, and will pay a higher rate for approx. 3 years. Source(s): I work in insurance in NC
I agree with the previous post. When I got my first speeding ticket, I opted to take traffic school for the ticket to stay off of my insurance. It was a one day class on a Saturday and it last from like 8-1 or something like that. It was truly worth it.
