Why is THAT the epitome of beauty nowadays? (points to weightloss ad) –>?
I really don't get it. Back then our moms and dads preferred to show off a head full of (alot) of hair, lots of red lipstick and dark eyeshadow and accentuate their derrieres with tight jeans. Nowadays, I'm forced to look at everyday a whole world and even internet advertisements (like that chick over there) are now painting their skin orange and maintaining their hair as greasy and fake as possible. My hairdresser friend even says it's obvious that the 'after' girl is wearing cheap-@ss hair extentions; and man! I'll bet she's the label crotch-level jeans and 20£ plain shirt type.
So, seriously, I seem to have missed a class that's now apparently convinced the world that it's the way to go. Have I missed the brain-washing session er what?

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters Ive got an ad for Louisiana showing a plate of craw fish over there—> so I cant really say.I have to say I dont like the bed head greasy hair look that alot of the young actors are sporting these days. They look like they need a shower.
^—— (points to Alex's avatar) No, but this is.Alex, I do not see any adverts. I never do on this site. Firefox! What women get pushed on them as feminine beauty sometimes bewilders me too. I wonder if the fashion industry simply runs out of 'new' ideas and shotguns whatever they can think up. I just shake my head sometimes. If woman would just quit buying the weird stuff and instead look like the way they really look, it would be fine.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. As long as you think you're beautiful who gives a damn what the media's definition of beauty is.
In 10 years you will see how silly and pretentious it all looks. Just as you can now see the excesses of past eras were. Now do you really want to buy into that? I don't think so.Be yourself. That's always cool.
I agree that the modern idea of beauty is very artificial look. I'm not so sure they 80's were any better though
Yeah,I hear ya. It's called Bimbo-World. You don't have to take part of it, better be yourself.
