Why is pale skin considered ugly in the gay community?
It's like every gay guy I know is obsessed with tanning and being tan, except for one's who already naturally have dark skin. I'm honestly very proud of my extremely pale skin, and go to great lengths to maintain it. Does anyone else not get what's up with this standard of beauty? Tanning makes you wrinkle sooner, makes your skin feel like leather later on, makes sun spots appear, and gives you skin cancer…what's so good about that? I think whatever skin color you're born with, is the prettiest color for you.

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters i don't think that statement is true in places where the sun shines only for 14 days.
let's see….in Russia, Finland, Norway, Sweden, North Dakota…lol…
i dont find it un-attractive but then again im very pale skin-ed because i dont tan i just burn :/but i suppose its you preference what you like in a person like some people love muscles but yet i dont mind the whole thin arms thingbut like i said it dpeneds on your preference whether or not you like to be tanned, not all the "gay community" feels the same way about pale skin i guess when your first tanned as long as its not tanned that much i guess it looks more healthy than pale skin as this may make you look nerdy/un-social…. good for you to be proud of your pale skin
i kind of hate my pale skin but the only reason its like this is i just get sunburnt….
The stuggle to keep up with the 'standard of beauty' by being perpetually tan will jump up and bite these morons in the @ss as they get older. Tanning damages the skin, drying it out. See the old people with skin that resembles untanned leather? Guess what? They were sun-worshippers or spent the better part of their lives working outdoors.I don't care if people think I'm too pale because I don't have that "Cabo" tan. I'll be grateful that I have healthy skin that retains its elasticity.
being dark is okay, unless you over-do it.if u tan to a point where your skin starts turning orange, that's when you start looking trashy.for me, i LOVE people with pale skin. you look so much better in clothes, especially winter clothes. oh, and you're much more chic too
Really and truly, it looks sickening as if you have cancer. I think pale skin is only considered "beautiful" if you're goth, emo, scene, etc… OR michael jackson.
I personally find pale skin more attractive than fake tans. I have naturally darker than pale skin (I was born from a very dark skinned hispanic) I have a tan that most people want, but I'd rather be pale.
All skin tones are sexy. From as pale as Zac Efron to as dark as Taye Diggs. Yum.EDIT: Ok, Jesse McCartney? He's had his pale moments.
I have no idea…I personally think very fair skin is beautiful…way more feminine than dark skin.
I have no idea . . . Lord knows I love pale beauties, male and female both.
I find any skin color attractive, as long as it suits the person. (And it isn't fake and orange..ugh)
