Why does racism still exist?
Im curious as to why there are so many people today that judge people by the color of their skin? Also interaccial dating, who cares who you love and what color skin that person has.

Because of ignorance. I just moved to the South from the West coast and everyone I have met thus far is racist. It's because of how they were raised. Once all these damn baby boomers die out then hopefully there will be significantly less racism. I'm in a interracial relationship and I'm fed up with people's bullsh*t about race.OH, and I don't even understand how people can be racist….. We are all the human race. We're the same f*cking species. We have different ethnicities which people judge us on. That's dumb. How can someone be against someone just because of their skin color? Source(s): Sorry I got worked up. It's just frustrating.
It has nothing to do with skin color. It has everything to do with not understanding, not caring to understand, not making any effort to work with each other to resolve issues, and or respecting each others differences or believing the other race is inferior.SO, as long as people stay on their side of the city and only hang out with their own race, and refuse to interact and talk with people of other races peacefully, racism will exist.
Why does racism still exist? Because it has become institutionalized.Affirmative Action, Minority Quotas, and Forced Busing all eminate from Federal Judges and their racist court orders!Color coding human beings is racist, and the United States court systems and judges color code people every day. I really hate being called 'white', and that is exactly the racist code I've been filed under by non-elected Judges. The up-coming 2010 Census here in Boston has the word WHITE next to a big box and orders you to CHECK HERE!, as there is no alternative if you're an ethnic caucasian. So racism still exists because it has been institutionalized and officially practiced as policy by judges and census bureaus.
Because people are still breeding hate within the household and those children may grow up and believe everything there parents told them and not want to become friends with anyone who isn't the same colour or religion as themsleves. Also i think alot of people still have a fear of customs different to there own and instead of trying to understand the customs they try and make a joke out of it because they don't understand
I developed an interest about racism during the seventies. Since there was no internet, I went to the library and went to the index file and discovered that there where books about racism in the psychology section. It was referred there as a mental health disease. Source(s): Can education cure racism ?
I agree with Dude32. It's not that people are racist necessarily, it's just that generally, black people act differently than white people. I was at a restaurant the other night, and when the waiters started singing happy birthday to someone across the room, a family of african americans started loudly singing along and clapping. I didn't mind it, and I actually wished my family could be more like that, but it just shows how different our cultures are.
most people are judgmental because their self conscious and have low self esteem.my friends disappointed me when i told them i was dating a black guy.i thought they were better then that.i sometime want to change career plans because i want to avoid crazy people like that.btw my friends aren't comfortable in their own skin…
… lets see… music, movies and the simple fact people still pull the race card. racism will still be around as long as people blame issues on racism. he just didn't want to help me because I'm black.whats up with the black entertainment channels… if it was white entertainment… it would be shut down. I'm white and Portuguese so I always get stuck in the mix.
Realistically you can't expect it to stop existing the instant it's dubbed taboo by the majority. The negative mindsets people have were built for hundreds of years. It'll take a few more generations for it to die out.
Because even though we are all equal, The CULTURE of "white people" and the CULTURE of "black people" is very different. People take those cultural differences and make interpretations… which can sometime be seen as racism I suppose.
Not "racism", just look around, you want to be around blacks?, even blacks flee themselves.
It is the only way to tell humans apart. I'm black and only naive people say race doesn't matter in my opinion. Differences shouldn't be ignored and they shouldn't be demonized.
Race goes deeper than skin colour. It has cultural aspects as well, which almost all people take seriously. But in short there is still racism because there are still different races.
For one thing 100% of our ruling party members still DEMAND separate legal classes based on skin color.
because people are too blind to realize that we are all equal. if they don't like it, move back to soviet russia :/ Source(s): YOURS TRULY KNOWS EVERYTHING O_o
Why Does Homophobia Still exist? In 20 years, People will look back, see the way some people treat gays & how they can't get married ect & think the same thing.
Because human as a species is an animal and nothing will change that. Figure it out.
