Why do people overuse the word self hate?
ok now this is def something that gets on my nerves, if you wear weave ur selfhating and ur not appreciating ur true beauty, why is everyone so darn sensitive, wht if i want to give my hair a break from relaxers or wear my hair natural or change my style. why the heck is that a bad thing. now as for the colored contacts thing i will agree black folk wearing blue contacts just doesnt really do it for me lol but if you get a nice colour that looks nice and fits ur skin tone wats wrong with wearing it every once in a while, i personally wear them because i wear glasses and yes they are prescribed and hardly anyone ever asks me if its my real eye color because it looks very natural and it blends in. and if u get ur nails done i guess ur self hating too??? i just think people have become a little too sensitive about this, i mean i can understand doing it too much and never letting your real appearance show, but doing these things dont make u a self hater! what do you guys think.

I only wear them when I go out sometimes and I don't think its me having low self-esteem, I'm just enhancing my beauty. It's like, if you do ANYTHING to enhance your beauty, you are self-hating. Like, I am half black; I don't find black men attractive and I'm guessing since I am half black and don't find black men attractive, I'm not appreciating my black culture. NOPE, it's called a preference. Society is so quick to label somebody as something that it is ridiculous.
i know. i relax my hair ( my real hair) and wear weaves here and there i do also wear Hazel or grey contacts everyday. and manly everyone thinks its natural so i don't care. if you think about it blacks aren't the only ones who change their appearance 2 " blend in " to the european society indians and other races also bleach their skin, wear contacts and blow dry, bleach their hair so its just like w/e. not all white girls are blonde's is that self hating to. i think mostly *** woman like to change here and there and if it makes you look better go ahead. p.s we are not in africa any more there are combs and hair products available people want a change from braids or dread locks
