   The standards of beauty are different from one far flung tribe to another because Africa is a humongous continent with a humongous amount of diversity.East Africa had alot of contact with traders from further east, such as Saudi Arabia for 3 and maybe 4 thousand years. Islam has had alot of influence on the people of the horn of Africa in particular. West sub-saharan Africa did not have as much contact with other cultures as often. Personally I find the tribes of West Africa heading south to be very very interesting. That extreme scarification in patterns all over the torsos of young women shows how seriously certain tribes take their beauty treatments. Filing the teeth to points is another enhancement of female beauty in some western african peoples.It really does not matter if the people of Djibouti are different from the people that live off the skeleton coast. It seems pointless to dwell upon racial origins of these people based on their ideas of beauty. I am more interested in Africans having decent leaders and a decent standard of living while protecting their environment from total annihilation..
