   Mary Kay cost slightly more to become a consultant ($100 for the starter kit). But you get $323 worth of full size MK products which makes it a great deal! You also get lots of educational material about the products and training material on how to get your business off the ground. With MK you also make a 50% profit on EVERY item you sell.    Well the choice is really yours, both a very competitive company's and household names. I sell Avon and I choose to sell it because it was a low start up cost of only $10 and I don't have to have inventory on hand. So It really just depends on which one your prefer or even which one do you better associate yourself with.
