Which is a better career goal?
I am torn in between going to school for Foreign Language teaching (Spanish) and taking a 2 year course in Massage Therapy and Esthetics (skin care) I am expecting a baby in August and I really need to get started on my education!! I just want to pick a secure job and make a decent salary. Which of these professions make more $$? Keep this in mind: I am currently living at home w dad and don't make much money as a Secretary… Becoming a teacher would take me about 4 years and I can't imagine living here for that long. The Massage Therapy school is a 2 year school.. Ughh decisions decisions

Let me first start off by commending you on your willingness to pursue an education, and raise a child at the same time. While this will be no easy task, I'm sure you'll find the results to be rewarding. The answer to your question is a simple one, but it is not easy. Put simply, I think you should do what you love. While the security of regular paycheck may seem appealing, you will end up far richer in life if you pursue your passion, whatever that may be. Ask yourself this question: "If you could see yourself doing one thing for the rest of your life, what would that be?" The amount of time in school, the paycheck, all of that doesn't matter. You'll feel happier and, I can almost guarantee, you'll be a better parent if you just follow your heart when choosing a career. I wish you the best of luck and I hope this helps.
You can find a massage therapy course that takes less time, keep looking. The unfortunate truth is that massage pays really well, especially if you look good, clean, pretty or handsome. I'd go for that with the intention of attending classes on a part time basis so that I could have a real career. You don't want to be a massage therapist for the rest of your life. Consider it a bridge to a good career.
