   State Farm – that's how I paid my initial premium – and set up a plan where my checking account was debited monthly – no charge for doing this, btw.

   Set up a paypal account with your checking account linked to it. You won't be paying with a paper check but the money will be coming from your checking account so it is essentially the same thing. It does not take days to set up either. I think you can actually use it on the same day. Then you can do all kinds of online transactions not just insurance. That being said, check out the source I've listed below. They have really cheap rates and will probably save you some money. It's worth a call to get a quote for sure. Good luck!    That's because the online deals are bait & switch tactics. When you go to actually buy it, it will be different.So, you want to buy insurance online, but pay with a paper check? It's not going to happen. If you want to buy with a paper check, you have to buy local. If you buy online, like through progressive.com, you HAVE to use a debit or credit card.

   State Farm has no down payment. You just pay for your first month of car insurance up front you can pay with credit card, check, or money order and then they will automatically withdraw your insurance out of your checking/savings account.
