Best Answer – Chosen by Voters No ! It goes down when you turn 25, or marry
There will be no affect on your insurance. If you have it under your name you will be paying the same price until you either reach the age of 25 usually in most or all states. That's also the age you can rent cars too in most states. Some states are 21 I believe to rent cars. And the other way the decrease of your car insurance will be in if it's under his name since he has had a longer record. That is, of course if it's a clean record. Usually if he gotten tickets or violations then they would put points on his license. Either way it still would be cheaper.Stay under your name. It looks better when you get to that age of 25.
Actually it will go down just a little every year; providing you are a safe driver and maintain a B average or better in school. This means, No speeding tickets, having no more than one friend in the vehicle with you to distract you. Running a red light or failure to stop at a stop sign. If you get evern one moving violation, your insurance will double instead of going down. One ticket and your monthly insurance payment will be more than that of a Brand New Corvette..Some state even say that if you or any friend in your vehicle has cigarettes you will lose your license, which means, you will not need Car insurance. Source(s): I Had two boys in the same boat as you. Your best bet is a Good used Pick up truck. One that you paid cash for so you will not have to have comprehensive Insurance; meaning if you mess your truck up you get nothing. But, it will save about $200.00 every six months on your insurance. For some one age 17 in texas your insurance would be about $2,000.00 every six months, Texas is cheap..Some states are twice that. Good Luck – Find a job and help pay for the insurance, that will make your parents feel better about getting you a car and your license.
Only time it would change is if u have different insurance or you get 3 years experience driving. Actually at 25 would be the cheapest. I pay 495 a year for basic coverage. It depends on the state and where you live and of course the car you want.I live in the outskirts of Oklahoma city and the price was the same as in Vermont with an older car.My daughter paid 500 a year at 17 because she was a national Honors student. It depends on your gender….male driver, female driver, age, school grades, etc. If you're a male, you usually don't get much of a break on insurance until you're 25….females get lower rates at younger ages.
Age 25 and marriage helps too!!If you've attended any driver's ed classes, as well as good grades, some insurance companies will offer a slight decrease!
my sister in law works for state farm and she said that it wont go down. anyways thats in the state of pa. Source(s): sister in law.
It won't go down until you are 25. Staying in school will help keep your insurance from being too high, but it still will be high.
Usually only when you get married, 3 yrs of having a license or turn 20
YES it DOES. As long as u pay on time it goes down like every time.
