Whats the consequence for driving without car insurance?
I recently bought my son a car and hes been driving it without car insurance. What will happen if he gets pulled over by the police department?

Minimum is a ticket. Car can be impounded. In the event of an accident, you could be sued in to bankruptcy since you bought the car for him. If he is too young to get decent insurance on his own, and is still living at home, put his car, and him, on your policy.AND TAKE AWAY THE KEYS UNTIL IT IS INSURED!
He'll lose his license, probably until at least age 18 if he's under 18 right now. He'll also get a hefty fine from the police. The car will be liklely be impounded as well once he is arrested because, after all, who can legally drive the car home when it isn't insured? If he hits someone while driving uninsured, you better hope that he only damages the other car and doesn't hurt anyone else. Otherwise YOU will be getting sued (if he's under 18), likely for everything you own and every penny you have in the bank if someone is injured as a result of him driving while uninsured. Lawyers jump all over uninsured motorists (or their legal guardians) when they cause personal injuries while driving uninsured.
If your son gets involved in an accident without insurance, the police will be the least of his concerns (note that's a pretty extreme statement considering he's looking at fines, possible license suspensions and vehicle impounded). If he is at-fault in the accident he will end up paying for the other person's damages. If there are injuries involved he could end up paying the judgement off for the rest of his life.
You bought your son a car but didn't buy him insurance or make him get insurance? Yeah, you might be a concerned parent but you're also a VERY irresponsible one. He can ruin his life if he gets into an accident. At the very least he'll get a serious ticket, loss of his license and the car will be impounded on the spot(provided he gets pulled over). It's like playing Russian Roulette, he may get away with it for a while but he's bound to either get pulled over or get into an accident…either way he's in deep trouble. Why will insurance bankrupt him? What kind of car did you buy him? What state do you live in?Luckily for you he's 19 so if he screwed up it shouldn't have anything to do with you from a legal standpoint(unless his car is titled in your name)
If you are such a concerned parent, then you shouldn't let your son drive the car at all. Put the car in your name, and put him on your insurance, which will be less. As a concerned parent, I would be more concerned about him having an accident, than being stopped by the police. If he has an accident, his fault or not, you will be held responsible and you will go more than bankrupt. Just getting stopped by the police could end up costing you towing and impound fees. He will lose his license for who knows how long, He may never get one! Police and the state don't just give you a slap on the wrist and say "bad buy, don't do it again", they mean business….like a real concerned parent should do!!!
Well, first of all, he can get a ticket, and fined quite a good sum of money. It could even go as far as having the car impounded if the cop suspects he stole the car for some strange reason. (Trust me I've seen this happen. My friend forgot the proof of insurance…just the PROOF he owned it…for his car, and had it towed.)If he wrecks, not only will he be fined for no insurance, but he (or you) will also be paying a pretty good amount of money to repair the car. Oh, and he could lose his license until he's older.Keep him off the road until you get insurance. Or let him drive an insured car.
there is ALOT more to worry about then just getting pulled over by the cops!!!! what if he crashes into a 50,000$ car!?!? could he afford to lose his license AND pay for the car no matter whos fault it was he would get blamed! not only that if someone else was in the car while he did get into a crash you could get sued for ALOT of money more then just the hospital bills but the pain and suffering and emotional distress! dont be STUPID! get some damn insurance! you are the parent you should know better!
You sound like a model farther.I wonder how you would feel if you were involved in a accident with an uninsured driver, worst still if they injured you. Great responsibility. Hope he gets caught and pay for being thoughtless. A big fine and license revoked.
Will be fined and license suspended. If he gets in an accident, you will pay out the ***.
HelloHe will not need insurance his car will be impounded and crushed. LOLAndy C
