What to take on an airplane?
I'm going on a trip with family to Arizona. Can I pack things like toothpaste, hair products, makeup, etc. on the plane? What will they allow me to pack in my suitcase in regards to toiletries or skin care products? I'm not sure what I should be packing. How strict are the airlines when it comes to these things?

The airport security is very strict when it comes to what you can bring in your carry-on. The TSA has a website that details what can and cannot be brought onto planes as a carry-on. They call it the 3-1-1 rule. The only liquids you can bring on the plane must be in bottles that are 3 oz or less, the bottles must fit in a clear plastic quart size bag, and there can only be one such bag per passenger. Here is the link. Source(s): http://www.tsa.gov/311/
Your safest bet is to put everything in your suitcase, your purse and your carry on bag will be searched and anything that is not allowed on the plane will have to be thrown away (water, lotion, perfume any liquid over a certain ounce.Things to take on a plane:Gum to help when your ears are popping on take off and landing, Sudoku or crosswords books to keep you from being bored, I take my portable dvd player which is allowed but be sure your batteries are charged if you have a long flight. MP3 players are fine and video game machine they will make you turn your cell phone off unless you can set it in flight mode.Once you have gone through the security check point you can buy drinks and food and take those on the plane a lot of people do that because it is cheaper than the food on the plane.Hope this helps Source(s): Flown many times
Just put your toiletries in your booked luggage. The airlines are neurotic at the moment about liquid products and anything by way of liquid or gel (including tooth paste) which you put in your hand luggage is liable to be confiscated unless it is of the dimensions of one of those small complimentary shampoo bottles which you get in hotels and is displayed for individual examination in a plastic bag. Don't run the risk. I recently aroused suspicion in Miami over a mysterious object in my hand luggage which I had entirely forgotten about. It was a foot file for use in doing a pedicure. I was made to feel like an international terrorist.
Include all of that stuff in your luggage that you're checking (the luggage that you give to them and they place in the bottom of the plane). Lots of airlines have limitations for what creams and liquids you can bring in your actual carry on and if you go over this limit you may have to part with your favorite products.
The airport and airplane security rules and regulations in this chart represents information gathered from the TSA the FAA and interviews with security people at our nation's airports. It shows what items are allowed and which are prohibited. What you can bring and can't take on board. Some of information comes from the airlines as they have particular rules for things to go on airplanes. When going through airport security checkpoints and the metal detectors, using the information here will make it easier for you to understand the airport & airplane security rules making traveling through airports faster to your destination. It shows how to handle simple everyday items when approaching the security checkpoint.Answers the question: What can take on airplanes?
