I recommend using proactive. I used that as a teen and it helped tremendously. However it is a little pricy if you dont have a job or if your parents wont pay for it. Neutrogena is a good one too, and you can get it at the store. Whatever you decide to use, make sure it is not alcohol based, it will dry out your pimples for sure but it will also dry out the rest of your skin and do more damage than good. Also, make sure you wash your face morning AND night. This is really important to do, because if you wear makeup during the day and dont take it off, it will clog all of your pores and give you those blackheads and blemishes. Cleaning you skin at night is the best time to clean it because you are giving you skin a chance to heal while you sleep. What type of face wash you need depends on your skin type. If you have dry skin you need a cream cleanser, if it is oily or a combination of the two, use a gel cleanser. Make sure that you use a light, oil free moisturizer with any face wash you use too. Having clear skin comes from a combination of different products that work for your skin type. Go to the store and read the lables on the backs of all the products, they will generally tell you what they can fix. Make sure you get:1. A cream or gel cleanser (depending on your skin type)2. Facial toner or astringent (remember, no alcohol)3. Oil free moisturizer4. Acne spot treatment (dont put it all over your face just on the blemishes)if you do this everyday in this order you should see an improvement. Also it helps if you dont wear any makeup for a while. And by that I mean any kind of foundation or powder, (including blush)Speaking of make-up, what brand you wear can really affect your skin. Generally, the more expensive it gets, the better quality it is. If you care about your skin it is totally worth it to splurge on better make-up. I sell MaryKay, and I wear it too, and I've found that I dont have any kind of reactions with it and I dont breakout hardly ever. The price for the make-up is on the higher end of average, but it last for quite a long time. Another thing worth mentioning, (and I'm just throwing this out there) If you have problems with irregular periods (which a lot of girls do) and have skin problems, your doctor can prescribe you birth control that will help both of those problems (some birth controls clear up acne as a side effect, isnt that cool?). It is very common for teen girls to take birth control for those reasons, my sister and I did, and so did many girls I went to school with. I'm taking Yaz and it is doing amazing things for my skin, I havent had a blemish for over a year! How awsome it that? You'll need to talk to your doctor about that though, and of course your mother.good luck and if you have any more question I'd be happy to help, just send me an email. Source(s): I'm a 19 year old who still needs to take care of her skin too. Also, I sell skin care products, and I'm preparing to become an esthetician (they take care of skin in spas and clinics.)
My advice is try everything to see how you react with it. What works for you, would not necessarily work for someone else. I started breaking out around the same age and now- three years later- is when I finally have control over it. I tried Pro-Active, Clean & Clear, Clearasil, Burts Bees, Neutrogena, etc. Some stuff worked but didn't control it. So start off with the basic cleansers for now (Clearasil, Neutrogena, Cetaphil, etc.) Good Luck !
I have found that Neutrogena is one of the most gentle and effective acne treatment brands. But for real results, you should see a dermatologist. They can provide you with acne medications of a different class and prescriptions that you cannot get anywhere else.
well i heard that Pro- Active work's really good. i use clear cell face wash. it cleans your pours out so you don't end up with pimples. well use that pro- Active. it's only $ 20.00 dollars. and you can see it on tv. and get the number. you get a bunch of stuff with the cream. well bye.
ok this is an old Mexican trick burn a lemon until there is little black spots and then put baking soda on it it's going to kinda get itchy but don't scratch and do it daily
i recently came across this site where they write articles and blogs about skin issues they will also answer your skin care questions: http://www.skinblogs.wordpress0o0com
