What should I know about eyebrow piercing before deciding to do it?
I know it can migrate, and your skin might reject it, but how common are things like that? Is it possible to prevent them, or at least minimize the damage? What kind of care does it require? And anything I would need to know~

Hi there! Well, they say that a bellyring and an eyebrow piercing are most prone to being rejected. Ive had a bellyring for 4 years now, healed beautifully. About 4 months ago i got my eyebrow pierced and its still sensitive (suppoused to heal in 6-8 weeks) so ive got a funny suspicion that its being rejected by my body =( but im still giving it some time. There is really no way to prevent it, if your body decides it doesnt want it, then it doesnt want it. However, some materials such as plastic are sometimes more 'acceptable' for your body. The signs for rejection are redness around the edges of the piercing, crustiness around the endges, sensitive, and if your piercing will sit more loosely than at the beginning. But keep in mind that the wound will be swollen up the first few days and that it will sit more loosly after the swelling has gone away. If you susspect that your piercing is being rejected, first go back to your piercer to make sure. If it is being rejected, the longer you wait to take it out, the bigger the scar. But a normal scar should look about the same as an old piercing that have healed. Eyebrow piercing are mord prone to infection because its in your face, so sweat might enter the wound or your hair might get tangled on the piercing, so be careful for that. Most people say that you should use a salt water solution, but mine got infected when i only used salt water (wich i got from my piercer), so i switched to surgical alcohol and saw a difference within the first day. But it depends from person to person, some people say that surgical alcohol irritates the wound. But just be sure to wash your hands before cleaning it, and clean it at least twice a day. Eyebrow piercings heals harder because there is lots of hair folicles in that area. A barbel is better to use for the healing process than a ring cuz it gets knocked around less. Thats about everything i know! =) You can do some more research on google if you like. Just type in 'eyebrow piercing rejection'. Good luck!
Even though eyebrow is a piercing that has known to reject, it does not do it as much as you would expect. If you clean it at least twice a day every day, there is an even less chance of it rejecting. You clean it with antibacterial soap (like dial), not rubbing alcohol, that will infect it. Also dont go swimming, the chlorine will irritate it. Source(s): I have a lot of piercings and know many people with their eye brow pierced.
