   Best Answer – Chosen by Voters I have no idea. My grandmother (who was very dark skin herself) felt like this. Drives me crazy personally. I'm not light, but more of a caramel color and I think dark skin men and women are beautiful. Plus, when I break out, acne is very noticeable whereas one can hardly tell on dark skin people.

   two of my friends were just talking about that in french class because the girl has lighter skin and the guy has very dark skin and they were complaining which one was more beautiful. I don't know why they started the argument but they never finished because the teacher made them stop because we were supposed to be doing a paper at that time.

   Well back when black people were being held captive. I was ingrained the the light skinned slaves were descendants of the white owners(Thomas Jefferson, George Washington) aka house knigras (I spelled it wrong on purpose). They were given more privileges that the field knigras. Today we'd call the look exotic, like brazilians are a mix of several nationalities and are among the most beautiful people in da world. White people don't even wanna be white n pasty anymore. They realize that the ability to see one's veins thru one's skin is crazy looking, nasty to be plain about it. Thus the boom in tanning salons and sunscreen maufacturing SPF 5 thru 40. Now a days, it's better to be dark skinned no matter if you are black or white. "Need a lil help" needs a lot help, well a whole lot of help. you avatar is darker than mine, you are on the other side of light skinned. I think you have a case of SELF HATE. It's common among darker skinned black people.Alway talkin about how they are only 1/2 black or "my daddy is 1/2 spanish; my grandma is part Cherokee Indian. Your *** is of African Decent like all the races of the world. If you remember 6 grade global history, you should have been taught that life began in the Fertile Cressent. Google it, look and see where it is located; I think you'll find that not matter what, No one can escape the fact, we all got the blood of people of color in us. Black, White, Asian, East Indian, South American, we desended from the contenient of Africa (The oldest mummified remains, found in tact, were found in Africa. Plus it is not true that dark skinned black people are uguy. I got some names for you, Barack Obama (He's not lght skinned to me, he can pass the paper bag test…look it up), Ty Diggs, Whitney Houston, Tyson Beckford (Yeah, I'll booty hit that anyday, call me Tyson baby…LOL).

   This is irony. Even those of African American descent are brainwashed into seeing light skin and good hair (straighter, rather than kinky) as advantageous. How horribly sad.
