What is the best way to remove or diminish the appearance of acne scars?

I have scars (not severe) from acne, what is the best home based or over the counter product to diminish their appearance? I also have very large deep pores. Any help?

See a dermatologist. Seriously.

Home remedies are all very well. There are some drugstore products that promise to reduce the appearance of scars and I don't know how well any of them do in the real world. Lots of people use Vitamin E topically and, anecdotally, I've heard some good things.

However, a real dermatologist can not only really do something about scars you actually have, but can keep you from getting more. See. A. Professional.
