What is the best type of ink to use?
I have already asked but I am asking again and adding on to my question because some stodgy bag got on my case so I am clearing up my question.
"I am considering dabbling in tattooing and would just like to know what the best ink is out there. Every site claims theirs is the best but I would like to know from people who actually use the inks."
By dabbling I mean just a kit and some practice skins (Not people Miss Poopy Pants). I don't care to do anything on people unless it is myself. I have several tattoos and just wonder what it is like on the other end of the gun and if I do something I always want the best products to work with.

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters Hmmm, Miss Poopy Pants huh? Didn't like what I had to say the first time huh? Well, here's the thing, if you weren't planning on tattooing people, you wouldn't be so worried about what types of inks are good. When doing an apprenticeship, the apprentice doesn't use quality ink, because they're learning. Why would you want to spend large amounts of money on ink, just to tattoo practice skins? It's nothing like tattooing, and you won't get the feel for it. And, if you had several tattoos, and have been around tattooing enough to know, you wouldn't call the machine a gun, you don't shoot people with it. So yeah, Miss Poopy Pants is back on the prowl!EDIT: I do have issues, issues with people like you, who ruin tattooing for those of us who do it honestly. Even when tattooing yourself, the operation of a tattoo machine is illegal without a license. What happens with people like you is, you give yourself a tattoo, and think, wow, this looks OK, maybe I could make some money and do some friends. You'll get curious, it's human nature. And since you don't have proper sterilization equipment, you'll end up spreading disease, and the CDC finds out more and more people are getting sick because of tattooing, then they investigate, and find out it's basement scratchers like you that are spreading the disease. Then the laws and regulations become tougher for the real professionals. So yes, I do have issues, with people like you. Source(s): Shop owner, in the business 15 years.
umm i have to check and get back…. i am not sure
Hi, Heather. The best inks out there are Eternal, Intenze, and Starbrite. I would probably rate Starbrite up there with the first two, except for the bottles it comes in. Eternal and Intenze don't dry out quickly, due to the binders in the ink, and they come with twist-open caps that keep the mess down to a minimum. They all go into the skin well, and hold up under the fire of sunlight exposure. I think Intenze has the best color selection, although all three have their strong points. Intenze also posts expiration dates on their bottles. Starbrite is a few cents higher in price than the other two, and occasionally I buy certain colors from them that the other two just don't have. I guess it's really kind of a draw. Still, Intenze gets my vote, with a choice of fifty-four colors, Eternal with forty-four. Hell, mix and match. That's how I do it. Take care.
