   I had the same problem. I was quite young when I passed and most companies turned me down because I was younger than 21. Others were not even worth considering because the premium came to around ￡1000. I was recommended Privilege from a friend, as that was the cheapest, and I have been with them since. Bear in mind that most companies take into consideration your age, no claims bonuses etc, so try a few places for quotes before you settle for one.

   hi i found my insurance quite expensive when i first started driving. found fortis to be the cheapest by far, although i use brokers, Fortis always come out cheapest. Also try and do your Pass Plus which gives you a discount of 10-15% I Believe.Alsao if your go through Quidco Portal you will get cashback on your premium. My Insurance cost ￡250 and with AIG through Quidco got ￡140 cashback. Source(s): Own Experiance

   You can try to long hard way of shopping asround, or just go to confused.com, and they will check a lot of insurers, and come back with a list of quotes, then choose which one you want with the cover they offer.

   There is no definitive answer to this. Use one of the price comparison sites such as moneysupermarket.com or confused.com. There is no one company that is the best for young drivers, on all cars, in all parts of the country. Insurance companies don't work like that.

   My daughter is 20, she drives a Nissan Micra, and is insured with Elephant.co.uk she found this was the cheapest after trying all the comparison sites. Best to shop around and try putting an experienced driver on your policy too we found that brought the price down a bit if you don't have any no claims to help you.

   Try Confused .com Although not a young driver anymore, thank goodness, they offered a wide range of different companies to choose from.
