What is the best all natural makeup?
Listen up Ladies, Im on the search for what everyone's opinion is of the make up they are wearing. I have two questions. First off, what is it that make's a makeup truly organic or natural. What are the things in make up that would make me age or cause more harm than good. I tend to like a more natural look, but I struggle with under the eye dark circles because of anemia and the fact that nothing I have tried so far stays on for very long. But and here is the big BUT. I take seriously this whole thing about all the unnecessary chemicals we are putting into our body. I have a friend that sells Shaklee makeup but Im just not sure. I like to try it before I buy the whole line. Can someone help me and give me some advice? WHat is paraben? or talc and is there anything else I need to look out for? Who has tried organic makeup or all natural? Does this mineral make up do what it says? Im 36 and I would say I have good skin. Im a country girl and not a barbie by any means but I need to start taking my skin care more seriously but I dont want to overspend. Is oil of olay full of chemicals? Help me ladies Come on!

I'm 26 and also have dark circles but I prefer MAC makeup. It's not organic but I use the physicians formula green base 1st which is organic but it does have SPF 15 and it is a perfect shade match. I have super dry sensitive skin and i've never broken out, it's my favorite
Natural is typically mineral makeup…pure mineral makeup or plant based. They will either have the certified organic seal on it or tell you how organic they are. Plus the ingredients list shouldn't be too extensive unless it is plant based. Korres is a great natural like and Bare minerals is a great mineral line. The things in makeup that would do you more harm than good are PARABENS (methyl, ethyl, butyl or propylparabens are all baaaaaaaaad) because they are a cheap preservative but have been found on breast cancer tissue in a form that indicates it was absorbed through the skin. More and more companies are starting to formulate without parabens now so that's a good thing. You also want to avoid talc as it's linked to lung cancer. To the point that you can't find it in hospitals anymore and it's been removed from baby powders. It's often in foundations and eyeshadows. If you do use products with it try not to inhale when applying. Thanks to my mother, we're both anemic
FUN TIMES RIGHT? lol. well, it's not so bad really. but i hear you on the dark circles. MY sister uses the sephora brand concealer that looks like the stila lip gloss clicky pens. I use benefit's boi-ing and sometimes eyebright. Stuff is amazing. AMAZING…but parabens -_- In moisturizers you want one that will work for your skin type…not one for all skin types (unless your skin is normal…then your moisturizer is working fine). I use bare minerals foundation, korres face primer. I try to keep at least those two things and my moisturizer as organic or natural as possible. The rest I've been working on converting…gotta finish out my concealer though! But at least thats not going on my bare skin. If you have good skin then I wouldn't worry too much about foundation! just get a good moisturizer. And cleanser.
oil of olay (now called just olay) does have a lot of chemicals
and i agree about overspending! I bought the bare minerals get started kit nearly a year ago and I'm still finishing my foundation…and it's the smaller size! I only use a light coverage of it but if I've broken out (thanks period) then I buff on more layers. It's very light and feels like you're not wearing makeup which is important to me. It also looks like you aren't wearing makeup…just that you have flawless skin! Make sure you moisturize before putting it on. You can get a sample from any bare escentuals boutique or sephora store. It actually helped to clear up my skin a lot (the chemicals I think were irritating my skin in other products) and now I only wear it occasionally…typically when I'm about to start my period lol. The mineral veil is awesome…it's like photoshop for your face! Clear radiance is great but use a light hand…subtle shimmer makes your skin appear to be glowing. I consider it a good investment
Also if you go to sephora, get a sample of the Korres Pomegranate face scrub. OMG. I want to eat my face and pet my face everytime I use it…I look forward to using it! Good luck!
if you want to look natural put concealer under your eyes for dark circles, then a nice sheer mineral foundation over the rest of your face, perfect coverage and looks very natural
Sure organic makeup is certainly an option
for dark under eyes you can use concelor then primer. you cant even tell. then for makeup organic is the best for your skin.
I think Bare Minerals is the best brand of natural Mineral Makeup. It is awesome, and lets your skin breathe, unlike other brands. My mom uses it and she really loves it. You can get it at ULTA. I hoped this helped, and HAPPY NEW YEARS! (:
Okay, for your age you should focus on trying to moisturize your skin and try to keep it as healthy as possible. Here is what I use since I prefer a natural look as well. All makeup is going to have some chemical in it, but some less than others and less damaging.Never use foundation. It clogs pores and it is full of those chemicals you listed. Even the "oil-free" kinds. They all cause skin to age faster than intended. Also, never use powders. They are cakey and mattey looking and set into fine lines and wrinkles. They age our skin quickly and dry it out.Instead, use a tinted moisturizer. I've been using Sheer Focus by Smashbox and it has done my face wonders. It isn't greasy or oily and gives you a nice healthy dewey look that most women crave. It also has just enough coverage to hide any minor imperfections. For a blush that isn't shimmery nor glittery or metallic-looking, try "Cheerful" by Bare Minerals. It's a beautiful pink that looks very natural when applied. And it's also nice to have a sun-kissed look. Hoola bronzer by Benefit Cosmetics will get you that look. Again, it's not shimmery, metallic, orange, or fake looking. It's very natural looking. And to complete your look, I suggest getting Softlips chapstick. If you've never used it before, it's so incredible. It glides across your lips so smooth and leaves them feeling silky for hours. It's not thick or goopy like vaseline.I didn't mention anything about eye liner because some women like and and some don't. It's your preference, but if you do like it and want to apply it, may I suggest Brown. It's more natural looking and Black is just not attractive the older we get. That's everything I have in my beauty bag. I really hope I've helped you in your decision making. Although some of these products are a little more money than the drugstore brands, they are well worth it. And when it comes to your skin, it's well worth it to pay a reasonable price for products that will do your skin justice.-Ashe
