What is an effective way to treat MRSA without medical treatment?
From what I can gather…these are the best steps to take care of MRSA from home.
1. Take a shower. Relax, soften your skin with warm water.
2. Throughly clean the infected area.
3. With latex gloves, drain the area, and "milk" it, so there is no more infection and puss.
4. Clean the area again, with warm soapy (antibacterial) water.
5. Apply triple-antibiotic ointment and cover with sterile gauze, and bandage.
6. Clean twice daily with antibacterial warm soapy water. and re apply fresh gauze and ointment.
Am I missing anything, because I imagine this would be the most effective way, next to actual medical treatment?
Help please.

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters You are wrong about everything. Have you ever heard the ditty that "sometimes a little knowledge is dangerous" that's what's happening here. By "milking" this thing you have, your also forcing it into the fascia (skin) layers and it's going to travel under the skin. It can also travel into the internal organs. You simply cannot get rid of it that way your explaining. It can go down or relax and then pop up somewhere else or on the internal organs, then you have a real mess. I have seen it in an operating theatre that has completely covered the internal organs of a patient, It isn't pretty. Don't mess with this. Source(s): LabMed Technologist supervisor (retired)
Does the person in question have more than 1? How about a history of MRSA??A furuncle aka boil/ingrown hair & MRSA are very different. Although they look alike, one is very contagious & needs to be treated with an antibiotic. If you "milk" a boil, of course it will HURT, but yes it will get the infection out & on the road to healing faster.. If you "milk" these and have MRSA that can be potentially fatal by spreading that infection into the blood stream. I know times are tough, but you cant chance everything. If there's a true concern that it's more than a common boil, please have it examined & a sample of the puss sent out to the lab for a culture. They will know exactly what it is off of the results. If it's THAT bad, the Urgent care or ER can't turn you away. Good luck! Source(s): Nursing
