What do you do when you get into a car accident and have no car insurance?
I backed into a car in the parking lot of my apartment building. It was a moving violation but the officer said no report would be filed because it didnt happen on the road. It was my fault but i dont have any car insurance. What should i do?

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters Pay for the accident, and get insurance. You are lucky that the damage was minor and no one was injured. Had someone been hurt, you could have paid for the rest of your life.
you should have to be a personal slave to the person you hit untill every penny of the damage is paid for..it is against the law to drive a car without any insurance and people like you who just do what they want to do are the ones who make me a law abidding citizen pay so much more for my insurance to cover the damages casued by people like you who think you are above the law..you sicken me.
If the police comes they will impound your car and you can't get it back until you get insurance, The good think is you don't have to pay the guy you crashed lol.
When you drive without insurance, you tell the world you have so much money you can pay for everything. So, you pay for the damages.
You have to pay for the damage to your car out of pocket. Stay on top of this because if you don't pay for the damage, the car owner can take you to court which will be a tip off that you don't have car insurance and you may be required to get SR-22 which is sky high. Pay for the damage and hurry up and get coverage.
It is your fault because you hit a parked vehicle. You find out who owns the vehicle you hit, you find out how much it will cost to repair it, and you give that person that much money for the damages. Make sure you get a receipt, with wording "I have received $XXX.XX for repairs to my _________ which covers my expenses in full for damage caused."Now go get insurance.
if it was their fault then hope to high hell that they have insurance coverage or if it was ur fault then ur screwed…u'll have to pay for it outta ur pocket and get a couple of different quote from repair shops to see if ur not getting ripped off…my mom had a accident and she had two mechanics look at it and she was gonna get ripped off by like 400 bucks
You should pay for the damage yourself !
pay for it out of your pocket, but ask to see reciepts so you know you are not getting ripped off…avoid telling the person you have no insurance, because that's worse than the accident!!!Then do yourself and the rest of the driving world a favour and GET INSURANCE!!! If it were me, I'd be suing you so fast you wouldn't even know what hit you…
Write the check to the guy who owns the car, to fix the car. Source(s): agent, 21+ years
Never tell the other party you have no insurance. Have the other party take their car to a repair shop of their choosing and ask them to provide you with the itemized estimate of damages. Offer to pay for their damages out of your own pocket.Get insurance as soon as possible. You're lucky the accident was minor. If it had been on the road and someone was injured, you would be in deep **** because of not having insurance.
You could get a loan to fix your car if you can't afford it. Good Luck
