   Best Answer – Chosen by Voters easy answer… don't drivePicture this as a real likely scenario:1) You are involved in or cause an accident in which you are to blame. Maybe a minor injury or two2) The PD will tow your car – even it it is driveable since it has no insurance and you can not drive it. , the DMV jerks your license for no insurance. Ok so much for the GOOD news.You are responsible for the repair to the car you hit. Figure a modest $5 to $6k unless you hit a new car where even the wheels may cost $1 each. Eventually they will sue you for the bill and your check will be garnished. Now it is up to 50% less (net).but wait .. there's more.Remember that injury? Hospital stays are around $300/day PLUS the treatment. Figure a minor broken bone or two is going to cost around $10k…. guess who is paying.and now lets get to the Pain and Suffering (not yours… theirs) an easy $10k maybe a LOT more).Its going to be a looooong time before you see a full paycheck. If you buy a car, (let alone a house) it will be seized and sold to apply to the debt. You think you are scared of being pulled over… dwell on this scenario for a bit and you will see that is the least of your worries.Concerned.. ? This is not an extreme picture. In fact it is pretty realistic as others answering your question will likely echo.Bottom line..Take a bike, walk to work, get a motor scooter (which has cheaper insurance) find a co-worker or a ride share and save up the money to buy the insurance. There are a LOT of alternate transportation methods… not as convenient as a car but they ARE there… you are just choosing not to use them for one reason or another..

   Don't drive a car if you cannot afford the insurance. Truly it is not worth it!

   You're really screwed between a rock and a hard place.Some states will let you file a form that will let you drive without insurance, IF you have several thousand or more in the bank to cover any sort of possible accident that may occur. But that doesn't seem reasonable here.I guess the only thing you can really do is drive as little as possible, and when you do, be extremely careful and pray you don't screw up and get caught, or worse hit/get it by someone.

   Don't be scared about being pulled over, be scared of having an accident, seriously injuring someone, and losing a lawsuit for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Be scared of being injured yourself, and having no coverage for injuries, lost income, etc.

   Sorry to hear about your situation but driving without insurance is a terrible idea. If you cant afford the annual premium… then you DEFININTELY cant afford to pay all of the legal fees if you get pulled over or even worse… get into an accident. If you get into an accident and you have no insurance, you will be responsible for all the damages and injuries. If you cant afford them, the court can garnish your wages…. and you will be screwed.Get minimum insurance for your car. If you have a pretty nice car, sell it for a cheaper one and use the money to pay for insurance.Otherwise, carpool with a co-worker or take the bus. Who cares if you get to work an hour early or have to walk a mile to get to work… its much better than rolling the dice and driving without insurance.

   Try shopping insurance companies for a better deal?Also try talking with YOUR agent about raising deductables or any other discounts or hardship help they might offer.Driving without it sounds good till you get hit or pulled over.

   Don't drive a car without insurance!! If you have an accident you will be in the sh#t, also the other car driver will have to claim their insurance even if it is not their fault!!!People without insurance, MOT or road tax should not be on the road!! If you can't afford any of them – Don't Drive!!

    Try to find someone to car pool with. Check with an insurance agent about liability insurance only and ask about monthly payments and ways to lower your insurance premiums "like attending a defensive driver courses". If you are that destitute look into getting government assistance. If you are not receiving child support and should be, get it. If you are getting it try to have it increased. You really do need insurance. If you have an accident a ticket will be the least of your worries…Good Luck…
