What could this rash on my baby's face be?
I know the age of my child shouldn't matter but he is 2 months old and hasn't had any problems until now. This past week, a really dry patch of skin showed up on the side of his head, the pediatrician said it was cradle cap and gave me lotion to care for it and said it probably won't get any worse. He also got shots on Tuesday and I don't know if this is some kind of reaction from that, but he has bright red rashes all over his face.. They are especially on his cheeks. I know it isn't baby acne, and it looks like bumpy sunburn… What could this be? I am freaking out. should I call the pediatrician?

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters I just went to the doctor this morning with my son for his check up. To re-ensure you my son has the same thing and my doctor told me it was baby exema. The best thing to do is use a baby moisturizer.

YES, call now, you are not over reacting he could be having a reaction, call right now before it is the weekend and you have to take him to the emergency room.!!!!
WTF! u need to take your baby to the emergency room how long has it been on his face again u need to go now Befor it gets worst n u neva know if its contagious!
Honestly it sounds to me like dry skin. My daughter has had problems with patches of dry skin on her face since she was born at first it hought it was an allergic reaction to somthing in the environment. Nope if i keep putting lotion, just plain ol baby lotion on the dry spots when they dry out from the last time i put lotion on they go away. SInce its the winter months (atleast here it is..i don't really know where your from lol) my daughters skin dries up fast. If it would make you feel better call your pediatrition…its what they get paid for and went to school for!
Call the pediatrician. Don't panic or freak out. It's probably a reaction to the shots. I may be wrong, but I don't think it's a condition that you need to go to the ER for at this time. If the baby is running a high fever along with the rash, that may be cause for concern. Your pediatrician will give you the best advice. Listen to him or her – the expert. But again, don't freak out. It'll be okay. I don't want to upset you, but this will be one of many incidents with your baby that will worry you. Just relax and do the best you can for the baby. He needs a calm, relaxedmommy.
