What can I do about my GAP and car insurance?
I got hit Kansas and my car was a totaled loss. I had full coverage and GAP insurance, my GAP said my insurance paid to little and that they(GAP) wouldnt pay for anything. Why do i have to pay out of my own pocket. I still owe 2,200.00 and i just got another car now i have to pay for two cars thats BULLSHIT.

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters If you feel you are being treated unfairly, and can't get an answer from either your primary insurance or your GAP provider, file a complaint with the insurance commission on the state level.
Yep, it is. Likely, that GAP wasn't real insurance, but something the dealer sold you? You can ask your agent to call the GAP company. You can also file a complaint against the dealer and the GAP company, complain to the BBB, and see if the GAP company has any licensing requirements – to try to get it yanked. It shouldn't matter how much your insurance company thought the car was worth, the GAP should STILL have paid the difference between the loan balance (assuming you didn't have negative equity from a prior car rolled into it) and the ACV of your car. The point is, they think your ACV is one amount, the insurance company thought it was a different amount.Solution for the new car? Buy the gap coverage from the insurance company, then YOU aren't stuck in the middle. Source(s): agent, 21+ years
Did you have gap insurance? Was it through your insurance company or through the finance company? Since this is an optional coverage, are you sure that you had elected to have it? It is unclear in your question who they (GAP) is. It sounds like you are talking about a company called G.A.P. and not a coverage called gap.
