What are some good organic body care products for infants?
I'm really picky when it comes to what I'll put on my baby's skin. I don't want anything with sodium benzoate (carcinogen) in it- alot of organic products have that in their list of ingredients.
I like Earth Mama Baby Angel's product ingredients. However, I've heard that essential oils in baby products could be irritating (don't know if it's true or not). Otopia claims to have all the things I like, but NOWHERE on their website lists the ingredients and I don't want to spend a bunch of money online buying things I won't want when they get to my house..
Does anyone have any opinions on essential oils in baby products or organic product buying tips?
Thanks.

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters Essential oils in baby products are usually beneficial more than anything, companies that make organic products do the research & wouldn't put something in their products that would cause irritation, they know the buyers of their products are wise on matters like these so I wouldn't worry about that. As for a good organic brand you just cannot go past Weleda, they have the most amazing baby products around, their calendula oil is sensational & their calendula nappy change cream is so good my eight month old has never so much as had a red bottom! Their teething powder's good too, it's all excellent!http://www.amazon0o0com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?u…
I love Little Twig products. All organic and smellreally great. I've used them on both of my kidsand had no problems. My son has really sensitiveskin and craddle cap and these products havebeen great. They are very well priced. If you sign up online for emails they occasionally send coupons too. Good luck in you're search!!
I love Aleva Naturals, which uses a combination of organic and natural ingredients. I use their bamboo wipes and 2 in 1 hair and body wash. Source(s): http://www.alevanaturals0o0com/products.ht…
I am very fussy when it comes to what is put on my children's skin. Skin is the body's biggest organ, everything we apply to our skin ends up in our blood stream, so I want to know that what goes on my kids is healthy and natural. I use Burt's Bees on my kids, even my 7 month old. I also like California Baby products. As far as essential oils being irritating…I have not seen that with any of the products I use, my kids do not have overly sensitive skin though.Drugstore0o0com has a good selection of natural/green skin care products for babies and they list the ingredients in every product.http://www.drugstore0o0com/templates/stdpl…
Good for you for wanting to keep it natural! If you also want to keep it simple, go for certified organic jojoba oil. It is the closest thing to the body's natural oils. It will work as a moisturizer and can be used anywhere on the body. I know that Aveda offers it. They also have their 'All-Sensitive" line that is safe for babies. It is very mild and only has the faintest chamomile aroma. You can also use extra-virgin olive oil for extreme dry skin, it works like a charm. Alot of moisturizers have fragrance that can irritate baby's skin or just make them smell good but not help with the dryness. good luck and enjoy your little! Honestly, the only things you will need for baby is a wash (this can also be used as shampoo), a lotion (or moisturizer) and a diaper rash cream if needed. Sometimes a powder. Some items that work well are:Aveeno sensitive baby wash, or any baby wash that is dye and fragrance free. Johnsons is tear-less and doesn't contain soap. For a moisturizer, you can use a simple pure baby oil, or olive oil.For diaper rash, prevent it with petroleum jelly or diaper rash cream with zinc. (A&D) Corn startch is what is now used in baby powder, so you can use that to prevent a diaper rash from dampness. You honestly don't need to buy products labeled organic or all natural. these are usually more expensive and many times are no better than the baby products already on the market- OR home made products!Good Luck!
