Troubles with coverup? In some places it makes my skin look gross and flaky?
My skin looks yuky, dry and flaky at my t-zone, around my nose and chin. I have tried using a different fact lotion, a different liquid foundation and powder. I have tried loose and press powder.
What I have tried:
Revlon lasting finish liquid foundation
loreal pressed powder
Revlon natual coverage liquid foundation
Mineral loose powder
Sheercover, almay concealer.
I have switched the above around many times.
My skin is usually oily in the places where it looks flaky, I dont think my skin is dry there, i just think the coverup doesnt agree with my skin or something lol.
I dont care if my foundation looks a bit cakey, i would rather be a cake face then a pimple face LOL
So why does this happen?
How can I fix it?
What products would you suggest?

use neutrogena skin clearing oil-free concealer; apply this first over any spots. next apply neutrogena skin clearing oil free make up; apply this all over your face. then apply neutrogena healthy skin loose powder. they also make neutrogena healthy skin bronzers and blushes. always wash your hands before applying make up & if you are applying make up using brushes make sure they are clean! wash your face with a gentle soap in the morning and evening, something like cetaphil. . .they also make great moisturizers.
its not the foundation, your skin is just dry. it may seem oily, and there may indeed be excess oil from hormones but the skin itself is dehydrated.use oil at night, which sounds counterproductive on oily skin but the right oil can actually balance sebum production while deeply moisturizing your skin. also if it is a mild skin condition coconut oil can clear it up. jojoba oil is said to be good for balancing skin ph. ylang ylang balances sebum production and adding a few drops to a tablespoon of coconut oil will balance the oil, moisturize your skin and kill bacteria in the oil that causes acne. http://hubpages0o0com/hub/All-Natural-Anti…that article talks about using ylang ylang with a nutritive oil to fight aging but is fantastic for oily skin. i highly suggest getting some, try ylang ylang III its still therapeutic grade but more affordable for starters. good luck!
This happens because your skin is too dry. It has nothing to do with the foundations you have been using. You should always moisturize before you apply makeup to avoid flaky skin. I would recommend aveeno face moisturizers, it works for me.
try using a name brand moisturizer with spf. one that you can get from a department store.you can also try changing your liquid foundation to a different brand, maybe one you can get from a dept. store since its covering your face.
