Taiwan Beauty Snake Question?
My snake started getting hazy eyes and dull skin of Monday of this week, which obviously means shedding time…
Last night before I went to bed the snake had REALLY hazy eyes as if he were blind. So, that means he is about to shed. When I came home from school, he had clear eyes and beautiful scales, so I think he shed his skin. But there's no skin in the cage! I think he ate it..
If he did, does this mean he's hungry… or what? Can I handle him? (Btw I fed him last Sunday)
Is he sick? What's going on? Please help?

This is his first shed since you've had him, yes? During the initial shedding process, a lymph fluid is excreted under the layer of dead skin. This is when snakes lose their vivid hues; their skins becomes dull and their eyes become cloudy (blue/gray). The lymph fluid becomes transparent (eyes clear up and the skin looks normal) as it loosens the skin for a few days to a week; depending on the species, individual snake, humidity factors, etc. He didn't shed yet, so no, he didn't eat his skin. I would guess he will be shedding very soon (today or tomorrow). I never fed nor handled my snakes until about 24 hours after shedding.
what the guy said above me the eyes will cloud up and then clean and a few days it will shed make sure you have the humidity higher so he can get it all off mist the cage down
No they don't eat their skin, check again
