Stretched ears ripped !?
Okay so yesterday I put in these softwear/software tunnels from freshly stretched 00g to 1/2g . I know it was stupid , so don't preach to me . I did it a year ago , no problems . But when i decided to go back up again this year , I guess I went to fast . This morning I awake to THROBBING , BURNING pain in my ears . Just as I suspected , they were swollen && infected . I tried to take the softwear/software outta my ear , just to see that they were practically glued to the skin . I freaked the hell out & just took them out as soon as my mighty hand would let me . Blood SPLATTERED , not dripped , BUT SPLATTERED everywhere , && was literally pouring outta my ear . I finally got the bleeding under control , put in some 16g regular earrings (to hold my piercings open at least) , then cleaned those suckers with saline solution (salt water) . Now here I am , 16 hours later , a million cleanings later , waiting for some answers . help a child in need , yes ?
The actual questions :
-Should i put my 00g back in instead of the regular piercing ? I truly don't care about keeping them stretched , I want to ensure the health of my earlobes first . (remember , no preaching .) Plus , I don't think they would fit back in after the 16 hours of ripped-ness .
-How should I treat my ripped earlobes ? The skin is turning black-ish colour , where the actual rip is . The lobe itself is no longer red , swollen , or sore . Besides the trauma of ripping .
-Do I have to "down gauge" , or can I just take them completely out ? I prefer taking them out , because I want my ear to heal before I decide to start stretching again . I'm sort of traumatized now .
Pleaseeee people I need your immediate help , best answer gets ten points !
Besides the points , you're helping a person's health !
Thank youuuu .

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters This happened to me a while back, though I had not put them in a fresh stretch. Anyways, let me answer your questions. a) Do NOT put the 00g back in. I suggest leaving your plugs/tunnels out until the rip is 100% healed. b) You mentioned you had cleaned them a lot within the 16 hours with saline solution. That's not a good idea. Also, DO NOT use peroxide like that person up there mentioned. Peroxide is way too harsh for the fistula (inside of the hole). Do sea salt soaks 3-4 times a week MAX. Salt is drying to your skin. You don't want cracked/dry lobes WITH a rip. Also, massage them regularly (once or twice a day) with vitamin E oil. It will help keep your lobes moisturized and healthy, just be gentle around the rip. The blackish color is your rip scabbing over, don't mess with it. That will further irritate it. c) You can down-size or take them out completely. Just wait until your lobes are COMPLETELY healed, and try putting in different sized plugs to see which ones fit most comfortably. You shouldn't have to struggle to put them in. Then slowly stretch back up, give your lobes ample time to heal to prevent future rips. Or, if you want to let them close, you can do that too. Either way, I suggest the sea salt soaks (1/4 tsp. sea salt per every 8 oz. of warm water) and E oil massages. Good luck! Source(s): 1-1/2" lobes, been stretching for 3 years.
forget abut the guages u say ur skin is turning blackish u should go to the hospital it could be an infection
The same thing happened to me a few months back but i went from a 12g to a 2g? I used ALOT of peroxide on mine, I cleaned mine 3 times a day n after bout a week they were doin fine again. When it happened with me I took my gauges completely out and waited till I had the infection under control and my earlobes looked normal again before I started gauging them again. This has happened to a few of my friends and they gauged their ears down instead of just taking them out totally, but it all depends on what you want to do either way will work. And if I were you I wouldnt try and put the 00g back in right now, that will just irritate them even more.
Ok so,Since I'm not a doctor or expert on this, here is an educated guess…1. Start putting some tye of ointment, the best that I would recommend would be cocoa butter.2. If money, insurance, or parents yelling at you is not an issue, then you should definately think about stiches for the rip… tell the doctor, nurse, etc. specifically not to close the gauge up if you are concerned about keeping the gaue size pretty high.3. Take some advil or whatever type of painkiller, I know how much of a ***** it is so… 4. Do not put any more gauges in, or downsize to the previous one you had in. Source(s): I had gauges before i joined the navy.
