Skin damage caused by the sun?
I’m 18 years old an I was just wondering if skin damage from being out in the sun can heal itself after a period of time after taking care of it. I’ve had some sunburns a few years ago and am worried about skin cancer when I get older. So can my skin repair what damage the sun has caused by taking care of it from now on? Should I be worried?

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters Believe it or not but exposing yourself to the sun and also sunburn can help to reduce your chance of suffering from skin cancer. Edward Gorham, PhD gave a very interesting lecture that links the increase in the incidence of skin cancer to the prevalence in the use of sunscreen. I couldn't believe it myself but the science is all there.Sunscreen actually inhibits the skins natural ability to protect itself against the harmful effects of UV. As a result, sunscreen leaves the skin vulnerable to the detrimental effects of sun exposure. I have attached a link to a 45 minute lecture and I implore everyone with the time and patience to watch this. It is a real eye opener. Source(s): http://www.youtube0o0com/watch?v=eeXtGHSt-…
