Skin and bones mother dog pregnet again?!?
Hi, for those of you who remember the "breeders" that i rescued the 4 5 week old female heelers from then the half dead male puppy heeler a few days later. The mother dog might be pregnet AGAIN! she is skin and bones. There are still 5 puppies left from the last litter. They are left outside and eat what dead animals they can find. The people do not want the mother dog or the last 5 puppies and called me and want me to take them. I told them i would. Muma dog couldnt be more then 1-2 weeks preg according to the owners she went into heat about a week and a half ago, the parents tied 6 times that they say. They have never been indoors, never been socalized with other dogs.
The lady said she would drop them off 2morrow afternoon. How do i introduce muma dog to mine and my freinds dogs (we live together) in total 7 dogs. 3 males, 4 females. How do i introduce her to the inside of the house?
How do i care for a pregnet *****? How often do i feed her, as i said she is skin and bones and will need to get fat and neuterants into her before the next litter is whelped, then she will 100% be spayed. Can the puppies (7 weeks old) be dewormed? Shots? Can mother dog be wormed and get her shots?
thanks!!

If her puppies are only 7 weeks old, then she cannot be pregnant again,as dogs come into heat every 6 months,so she would not be due to come into heat for another 9 weeks unless he has a hormone imbalance. You need to get her to a vet to be wormed and vaccinated and then have her spayed. The puppies can be wormed and vaccinated as well, and the mom started on heartworm preventative.Keep the dogs separated until the mom is spayed,as she will be protective towards her pups and this can start very serious fights. The puppies should have a large pen.If by some odd chance the mother is pregnant,it would be better to get her spayed and the new litter aborted. You are to be commended for taking on such a huge commitment.Thank God for people like you.I wish you good luck. personally, if someone brought me an emancipated dog that was in early pregnancy, I would talk to my vet about getting her spayed. Her body is starved, it cannot properly support a litter of puppies.. it will take a toll on her body, and take a toll on those growing puppies. Shes at a high risk of complications, and a high risk of producing pups with birth defects because of her condition and poor nutrition.
Its been 4 months since this ***** was last in heat. Its RARE for a ***** to go into heat that often. For the health of the ***** call your vet and consider having her spayed. If she's skin and bones being pregnant again is the LAST thing she needs right nowHonestly I would contact a rescue and turn these animals over. You are going to be in over your head taking an untrained and unsocialized animal into your home.
first place she should go is the vets.
You're in over your head. You're thinking with your heart not your head.Unless you are very well off you can't possibly care properly for the health of all these animals.Take them to the shelter…………….Pups need 6 and 8 week shots to avoid parvo etc.She needs High quality, expensive dog food , 3 times a day.She needs a complete work up at the vet.Pups need to be dewormed. From vet not pet store stuff.May be too late to worm and shots for Mom. Only vet will know. We're at $5-600. now.
The very first thing you need to do is get the dog into a vet to have her examined. I would suggest spaying her before those pups are born, if it is at all possible. She doesn't need another litter to support. But your vet will help you determine what the best and safest course is for her. And the pups can most definitely be dewormed and vaccinated. Thanks for taking on such a project. I know that it is hard when people just treat their animals like that. If they didn't want them, why didn't they just take them to a shelter? Anyway, good luck and I hope all goes well. Source(s): ER vet
The best thing to do for the animals is to take them to the shelter. I know you want to save them, but this is too much to handle with all the other dogs in your household. Especially since the outside dogs are not socialized. If you bring them in with your dogs, you are asking for trouble. The spread of disease, fighting, most surely with injuries to either you or your dogs, or both. They need to go to the shelter. Honestly. It's the best thing you can do for them. I suggest to either take her to the vet and get them to abort the pregnancy, to save the mother dog and more unwanted pups, and then to have her desexed. If you cannot afford this, take her to your local animal shelter and explain to them the situation she has come from. If you want the mother dog as a pet for yourself, you will probably be able to work out an agreement with the shelter – they are there to find as many animals homes as possible; they do not want to euthanise if they can find a home.Either way, she should not be allowed to have these pups, but if she does, then you need to now be the responsible person. Good on you for rescuing her from a certain death from malnutrition and starvation – what a horrible way to die. Good luck and think about what is best for the dog, not what is best for you.
Take the mother dog into the vet IMMEDIATELY and get her spayed. There is no reason for her to have another litter. Why in the world would you allow that. If you do you are NO BETTER then the people that currentl own her.Find a rescue that will take the puppies so that they can be placed into suitable homes and be spayed/neutered.
I don't normally say this, but I think a spay/abort might be in order, what with as bad off as she is. With as unhealthy as she is, she'll probably die during the pregnancy or in labor.Report these people to your local Humane Society, ASPCA, or whatever you have in your area.
