Should Obama get the federal government involved in car insurance?

This car insurance companies are actually making a profit off of something we are required by law to buy.

Shouldn't Obama take the profit out of the car insurance industry and offer a public option to compete against them?

Well said. The health care reform argument seems a bit ridiculous when you apply it in this manner, even when it is the same thing. The only difference with the health case is that even if you are not covered under the plan, you will still have to pay for the others that are.

Nationalized car insurance. Wouldn't doubt it. Plenty of illegal aliens and minorities are without insurance. Gotta get it for them along with free medical care.

That is a state issue… States have control over who gets to drive in their state, the speed limits and the vehicle requirments.
