Should I change my skin care routine? Oily/Acne prone skin?
For about a year and a half I have been using Olay face wash and face lotion and clinque toner, but only in the morning, I don't do anything at night. It really doesn't do anything, my acne is still the same with major break outs every now and then. I have acne in my T-zone my forehead, nose and chin and on the side of my nose. It's pretty bad.
So what do you think, should I stick with my skin care routine even though its not really doing anything? I'm scared that if I switch, I'll breakout even worse, I don't want my skin to be irritated because I switched.

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters no, you definately need to change. firstly, make sure your diet consists of at least 6 bottles of water a day. i know it seems extreme, but trust me it helps so much. also, try not to eat oily things like chips, and try not to eat super sugary things very often. okay here should be your routine, trust me i used to have terrible acne. firstly, follow this skin care routine that i found on youtube a while back, and omg it works SO well for both acne and scarring. http://www.youtube0o0com/watch?v=e–d_n073…next, make sure you use warm/cold compresses alot. this means that at night before you go to bed, you should first take a washcloth and make it really really warm to open your pores. Then, after pressing that to your face for about 5 mins, use cold water on the washcloth to make it cold. press that to your face for about 5 mins also. this helps to deminish pores in the longrun.a product that can help you is Clean and Clear's pers gel 10. it has benzoyl peroxide which helps oxygen enter your pores, which will help diminish impurities beneath the surface of your skin. it really does help. but dont use it all over, only the problem areas. it can also dry you up so you need a moisturizer. when you have oily skin, moisturizers may seem unessesary but they are used for more than just making your skin soft; moisturizers are to nourish your skin. the natural oil on your face wont nourish anything. just get any moisturizer without oil. i reccomend neutrogena or biore.follow this for about 4 weeks. you WILL notice a difference. …Hey, if its really getting to you consult your doctor. They can prescribe pills and face cremes that are more powerful than shop ones. My sister did this and found that pills cleared her acne up really well. Make sure your not adding any extra oil to your skin, like foundation etc. Some products i have found really good are from TZONE http://www.t-zone.co.uk/Default.aspx. Your skin care regime is not enough you should do the same as you do in the day at night and maybe you need some of the following:Use the right cleanser. If you're dealing with excess oil, you'll need to use a cleanser meant specifically for oily skin in that area. A gel based cleanser works best to eliminate oil (AVAILABLE FROM TZONE) and clean out your pores.Astringents can be helpful. But only if your skin is very oily. Astringents eliminate excess oil, but if your skin isn't extremely oily, you may be left feeling dry and tight.Use a targeted facial mask. Use a facial mask once a week that is formulated for acne or oily skin. Finding one with tea tree or clay is a good start. If your cheeks tend to be dry, only apply on your t-zone to ensure you don't dry out your cheeks.Get some pore strips. Pore strips are a great way to clean out your pores, especially if you have blackheads. Make sure to use a toner after you remove the strip so you can help close your pores.DRINK WATER.Oil blotting sheets are a must. An easy way to instantly get rid of excess shine. These discreet tissues are perfect to stick in your handbag or backpack to refresh your face.Hope this helps.
