I have a very peculiar skin/acne issue. I have moderate acne around my mouth and a little on my forehead, and I have large pores on my nose and upper cheeks, and on my nose and forehead my skin is dry and flaky. If I wash my face to try to make my pores smaller, my acne gets worse. Usually it is mild, with maybe only 3 or 4 blemishes. When I wash my face, I get 15 or so. However, if I don't wash my face, my pores continually get worse and worse looking. I have tried nearly every acne medication on the market except Proactive. All the products either dry out my skin, or break it out worse. Even washing with soap and water breaks my face out. Putting facial lotion on my dry spots only makes it oily and then those areas break out too.

What can I do get get rid of the large pores, moisturize, and get rid of the acne I do have without making it all worse?

I really don't want to resort to Proactive because it's so hard to get. You have to order it and it's expensive when you have to do that. Is there anything that you've found that works really well that's NOT one of the major skin care brands? (Biore, Neutrogina, those alcohol based skin cleaning pads, and Clearasil have all FAILED on my skin)
