On Accutane,How long does it take to work?
I'm 14 years old and on accutane , & I am scared that it is not going to work on me because of my hormones and all.
-I have been on accutane for 2 weeks and 5 days , & my acne has been getting horrible.
-White heads and all keep coming out , & I've been popping them , I know its bad but I still do it because that seems like the fastest way to make it dissappear
(is that going to effect anything?)
-& also I have been using the Clinique 3 step skin care system
(is that okay ?)
Please Please help me (:
Thank You

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters It will probably take a month or two to see improvement.I took it when I was about your age. Sometimes it gets worse before it gets better, but after a few months your skin will probably be pretty clear. I took the medication for 6 months and did nothing else except wash my face and I haven't had any acne for about five years.Popping zits can cause permanent scars, so you should avoid popping them.As far as using another skin care system, you should talk to your dermatologist.
I'm 14 years old and on accutane too. Been on it for a couple of weeks, just like you. We have a lot in common! If you're lucky you will start to see improvements during the second month. Most people start seeing improvements during the third, and a very small amount of unfortunate people don't start seeing em until the fourth.White heads have been coming out of nowhere for me, and I've been popping them too! I broke out on my nose for the first time in like three months! I never break out on my nose, and if I do, the pimple is usually small. I started getting a really big one on my cheek, but it went away..phew. Most of the pimples I'm getting are very small, but they're annoying because they hurt.
Use Oxy. It's one of the best in the world. I don't have acne, but it sure did clear my break outs fast. ( Always use face cream after a shower or when your face is clean ) It really is not a smart thing to pop them, because it's pretty obvious it'll make your skin look worse, and it leave scars on your face. They can't just disapear forever when you pop them. But always give acne cream a chance for a couple weeks or longer. Sometimes your face has to udjust to it.
Itll get worse at first! dont worry about it. and do not pop them……I was on acutane around your age and I had no more acne after I was done taking it. Stick with it!!!!get a small needle, and put it through the zit and it wont make them nasty and as red/irritated.
no no!! i know how you feel im also fourteen and i was 13 when i was on it please try not to pop them i have some slight scaring and make sure you always put sunscreen on no matter how light the sun is because it can lead to life time scaring also DO NOT i repeat DO NOT taking or use anything else while taking accutane i had a dermatologist who told be to my face got 10 times worse then it should have been and those things don't let accutane do it's job. YES that is normal didn't your dermatologist talk to you about this at the beginning of the dosage it will get worse and i know it may seem to take forever for it to clear and look good and sometimes you can get impatient i know but try to wait it out this is your first month and on the second month you should see it start to get better i had to wait until the 4th month because i had been taking other things from accutane (thanks to my derm! but i changed derms and they say that they recommend accutane by ITSELF and try not to tell their patients to use anything else) so stop clinique 3 steps accutane is THE best acne solution because of how powerful it is. my face got so bad well after my face cleared up my mom got enough guts to say she couldn't even look at me (mostly cause i was taking those other things) if i hadn't stopped those extra things my face might still be bad now i love looking at my face in the mirror anyway enough about me i know it's hard to stop popping maybe try makeup to cover it i don't like it myself but it can help lessen the redness hope that i could help you and i hope that you also love your face at the end of accutane!
