My name meaning doesn't match me? Should I change it?
Layla- (3 origins)
Origin:Arabic
Meaning:Dark beauty
Origin:African
Meaning: Dark beauty
Origin:Swahili
Meaning: Born at night
Leila-(1 origin)
Origin:Persian
Meaning: Dark-haired beauty; night
but it doesn't match me! I have super light skin almost as white as snow. I have super light brown hair, and I was born during the day! Is my name bad luck for me? Since my culture doesn't fit it and the meaning is nothing special, I rather have a meaning like hope or intelligent one, or blessed child, rather tha "dark beauty" please help. Does the meaning really affect who you are?

Sweetie, it's a name, not a fortune cookie! Your parents obviously thought it suited you, and it's been your identity for your entire life! Why change it because someone thinks it means one thing because of a foreign word? It doesn't matter what it means, the name doesn't make you, you make the name. It's entirely up to you whether you change it, but I say don't let a internet or book source tell you who you are. Let your heart and mind decide.
Your name is stunning why would you want to change it based on the meaning of the name. Name meanings mean nothing to me and most people I know, they just go by the way the name sounds. There are a lot of ugly names out there with good meanings, and a lot of pretty names with plain, boring or stupid meanings.I say keep your name as is, it's a very pretty name.
Layla is a gorgeous name! Dark beauty is a way better meaning than some of the other names…Cameron – bent nosedKennedy – ugly headClaude – crippledMallory – unluckyand many more….So, don't put too much stock into the meaning. You make the name, the name does not make you!

You should be happy; despite the meaning, Layla is very pretty and unique. Actually, not so unique anymore, as it is becoming very popular for for baby girls these days.
My name is Annette which is French for Ann (favoured Grace) or Hebrew for full of grace. Either way I'm not French or Hebrew and really don't have that much grace at all. The meaning of my name has no meaning for me and it doesn't affect who I am at all.
Layla is a pretty name but ur parents should've known you was born during the day. My suggestion is you change it to " Daydream ".
changing your name for that reason is not a good idea my daughters name is layla and she is as white as snow with blind hair no one nos what your name means lol trust me its a beautiful name
Chill out. Names don't have any effect on whether you'll be successful in life. Source(s): Freakonomics, page 179pp
Your mother/father gave you a name. That should be enough meaning!
