My dying hamster has this thing hanging out of her ear?
It's been there for a while and it doesn't seem to majorly affect her living. She is a little over 3 years old which is pretty old for a Russian White hamster (i think she's a dwarf one). My parents and I have already came to an agreement that the vet would cost more than her and shes so old that there isn't much they could do for her anyways. So we are just taking care of her and living normally. But i still don't know what this thing is. It's hard as a rock and its peach colored, but then it turns brownish or dark. It's connected by a little strip of skin and its attached to her ear (not very far in either) Anyone know what this is? THANKS! BTW don't tell me I am cruel for not bringing her to a vet because I am pretty sure they would just tell me to let her live it out and that she's going to die soon probably.

You are doing the right thing by not taking her to the vet. they will only steal your money when they know the hamster will die anyway. 3 years is very old for any hamster. It sounds like your hamster has a tumor growing from the ear. there may be others inside her. Just make her comfortable but know that cancer can linger for a while. One of mine had it bad and the tumor went in to a hole in the side of her and bled and stunk. She lingered on in agony. Finally my Dad asked me if he could shoot her. He told me one quick shot and she will be gone and out of pain instantly. He did it. And her suffering was over in an instant—and the vet didn't get to charge us $100.00 for an office visit. I'm sure his heart was broken. Source(s): Owned 10 hamsters over the years.
It sounds like some sort of infection.See if it matches up with any of these: http://exoticpets.about0o0com/cs/hamsters/…I recomend trying to find some sort of natural remedy that will at least take it's pain away/make things easier for it.
