My dog has pink, itchy, dry skin?
I have a border collie who's hair is naturally long, but since the begining of winter she's been scratching a lot and her skin under her white fur has been bright pink. She's had really bad dandruff as well, and her long hairs from her tail, backs of her legs and arms are thinning and falling out. What can I do to help her dry skin? I don't care if she looks like patchy the freak dog, I just want to stop her itching. It's obvious it bothers her because she'll jump and scratch herself often.
I know it's not ticks or fleas because I check her skin daily.

Take her to the veterinarian.
I would say you should call the vet SOON!
My freinds dogs do that, it's so bad they actually do look like patchy the freak dogs.So the vet told them to stop givng them dogs treats (idk if you give your dog them…?) and to give them baby carrotts instead. And they actually love them. They just started so I don't know if it works but you might as well just try it, it would prob. be cheaper than bying dog treats. Also give her a bath, go to PetCo and look for special shampoo. Maybe she just needs moisterizer.
She could have mites. You should take the dog to the vet. She might also have allergies, but you won't know until you go to the vet.
You should probably take her to a vet. This reaction could be due to food allergies. It could also be due to any chemicals she's come into contact with if you've treated your lawn or carpet. Also, if it's just a skin issue unrelated to allergies/mites/chemicals, you might want to try using MicroTek shampoo and conditioner. My dog had very bad dandruff issues too, and the vet advised MicroTek. It cleared it all right up! I get mine online at http://www.rescuepetstore0o0com/product/EQ10616.html... It's the cheapest I've found!

I would be getting to the vet ASAP and having a skin scrap to check for mites.
Nasty
haha sucks for your dog
dry skin= moisturizer or diffrent shampooif the skin is really flakey it could be dandruff which again try a diffrent shampoo or moisturizer (dogs have moisturizer too lolz but a change in shampoos should really do the trick)
