My dog bit someone, lawsuit coming, what do you guys think?

I was walking my dog today. He is a 8 month old bichon frise ( toy breed) and is not large. While I was walking him, he somehow slipped out of his harness and darted off. I ran to chase him, and i knew he would go to this nearby tree to pee, because he has done that before. But i go to see him near the tree, happily jumping and licking this woman walking by. She starts screaming and then I think that aggravated my dog, because it was a loud noise. So he jumps and bites her thigh. A split second after that, i pick him up. Then she starts making a big deal out of it and whines and goes to the security guards.( i live in an apartment in China.) She starts overreacting about things she knows will not happen, but just to stir up things. For example she is like " omg im going to get infected and die because of your stupid dog" and acts like its the end of the world. but in reality, my dogs bite didnt even puncture her pants, let alone her SKIN! Hes tiny, has tiny teeth, all she has is a BRUISE! I get my mom ( i am only 13) and the woman and my mom go to the nearest hospital to see if it is serious, because she is concerned about the severeness. It didnt even puncture, and my dog has gotten his shots! After that, she calls the police station!!! My mom and her go to the police station!!! She files this tiny incident as a case and then guess what, she happens to be a lawyer! Oh great! She is asking for us to pay for her medical bills for … the rest of her life! To me, that is a bit EXTREME! The police are also going to take my dog away tomorrow, and check if he has any diseases. Then they are going to kill him. Just because of a tiny retaliation attack from a tiny dog. If it was a normal person or a guy, they would have just shrugged it off like " haha, " but it just happens to be this stuck up greedy snob who is a lawyer and just wants money money money and doesnt care about what others think. I hate people like this, who know the truth yet fake it. ( for example, basketball players acting like a tiny finger touch is a flagrant foul) ((better yet, soccer players). i am willing to pay like 100$ for the time wasted today, just to be nice. But medical bills for life?!!! What are your opinions about this? Please be honest. Thanks guys.

1. its your responsibility to keep control of your dog.2. hes gotten away from you before indicating that you should get a more effective harness 3. your dog bit a stranger, they have every right to report it to a security guard. you dont know what the dog was thinking, you dont know why the dog bit the lady so you cant assume that it was the woman that aggravated it.4. the woman had every right to go to the hospital to check herself out.5. she CANT take you to court for her life medical bills, only the one that she went to the hospital and or if she went AFTER only for the reasons that the dog bit her, no other time is she allowed to have you pay a dime for anything. shes a dumb lawyer if she thinks she can get life medical bills paid by you 6. i think you are overreacting, did they actually say they are going to kill the dog? usually they dont if there is nothing wrong with the dog and if they didnt even puncture the skin. if this happened more than one time THEN they would put it down. but the first time. usually they just check up on the dogs shots etc. (experience on this) 7. this has nothing to do with you being the age that you are but with the situation8. relax……nothing will happen, and if she tries to take you to court for her "life bills" the judge will laugh at her

1. you have the burden to control your dog. The dog slipped the harness and was out of your control.2. the bite was sufficient enough to bruise the skin. 3. She is entitled to reimbursement for her medical bills from the bite. She it NOT entitled to any other medical bills4. There is no certainty that your dog will be put down. You (or more aptly your parents) have the right to be heard.5. Yes I agree this woman is pretty awful

Your dog, your problem.You have proved yourself to be incapable of looking after a dog, you should be banned from keeping animals for the rest of your life.The dog should be destroyed, as should all its siblings, obviously they will carry the same vicious attack gene.Furthermore you should pay the innocent lady damages of at least $10,000,000: all she did was to have the temerity to walk down the street, she didn't ask to be violently assaulted.

Turtle Lu,I use own a Bichone and they are the cutest dogs ever.This just doesn't seem right,your dog has had it shots and it sounds like this woman is just trying to get money.I don't think that they can kill your dog.I would fight this all the way! I would have your mom get an attorney that can help you save your dog.I wouldn't take this sitting down for a minute.Have your mom get an attorney and if you have to go to a hearing,go and take proof of your dog having it's shots.I'm so sorry that this happened to you,you must be so upset,I know I would be,I hope everything will work out fine for you and you get your dog back,Tomb Raider.

Even a Chinese court wouldn't give her paid medical for the rest of her life, but as to the rest of it? An army of lawyers won't help, the court will do what the court will do. I don't think there are any scholars in Chinese law that post on here regularly, but not a lot you can about what they decide.
