Job laws for minors Wisconsin?
I work at Mcdonalds's im a minor and they hold me way after my shift is over like 30 mins they wont let me call in when I'm sick they say that its not there problem and hang up and I'm expected to be there. They always throw me on grill and one time I burned my arm bad enough where the skin was bubbling and they didn't care to put burn relief or anything like that, I asked to switch positions and they wouldn't cause hot grill next to a burn hurts.

For holding you after your shift, if it was a school night, they are not supposed to keep you past 10 PM. Any later then that and they are in violation of state law. 30 minutes past your shift is nothing unless it was supposed to end at 10 PM and even then, they'd just write up your employer and tell them not to do it again. Maybe. And you'd have to report it.Did you report the burn to your arm to the manager when it happened? If they didn't do anything, you should have gone to the store manager and if they didn't do anything, you should have contacted Workforce Development. Since you are a minor, they would have want you to be protected. If the burn was serious enough for you to see a doctor, you employer would be responsible for the bill through the Workman's Compensation program.I don't know if there is anything you can do about getting a new position though. It would probably just be easier to fire you then to put you somewhere else. Here is the number for the State of Wisconsin Workforce Development Program, Equal Rights Division: (608) 266-6860 Source(s): http://www.dwd.state.wi.us/
