Is this a good death scene?

“Eve!” Joe screamed, and he held her with his other arm. She dangled above her death.
“Don’t let go! God Joe! Don’t let go!” She cried.
“I won’t! I won’t!”
“Let go!” Jacob cheered.
“Jacob, please don’t hurt her! God, I don’t care. Take me! Not her!” Joe pleaded. Eve cried as the skin on Joe’s arm stretched. He tried to pull her up, but it made her slip even more. All the blood rushed to Joe’s head as he sat upside down trying to pull Eve up. He couldn’t.
“Joe, just let her go. Okay? Let go!” Jacob smiled sickly.
“No,” Joe shook his head like a sick child, he was getting dizzier, “If I let go, just keep holding on.”
She nodded and swung her legs. She whimpered and struggled to get up. Joe’s arms were struck with pain, as the scars on his wrists were stretching.
“Joe, if I die, I love you.” She cried. Her tears fell into the dark patch of trees below.
Joe shook his head again. His head began to hurt.
He lost his grip on her arm and passed out. Eve held on as well as she could, but eventually slipped down into the forest like area below.

Tell me, because I think it is, but yeah, my friend (the author)isn't convinced.
