Is my mom stealing from me with car insurance?
But I don't know how often insurance is supposed to be paid. I know it can vary depending on what plan you have, but I have to pay $200 a month and my mom has been known to be a keneivingly deceptive person.
That sound ballpark? Two hundred a month? Maybe other teens with cars/experience relating to this can evaluate it?

It depends on where you live, the coverage, your (and your Mom's) driving record and the vehicle. $200 wouldn't be too far fetched for full coverage for a 19 year old.
ring the insurance company tell them your age and the kind of car you have etc and ask them for quote. should be an easy and accurate way to answer your question.
$2400 dollars a year for a ninteen year old dont sound too bad (depending on the car of course)
Ins can be paid monthly, quarterly or annually. 200/month , for your age is not bad at all.If paid monthly, the ins co's will go the automatic check route.
You are supposed to have a card in the car with the insurance company's name and your policy number. This is the law in most (probably all) states, so that you can show the police or the other driver (if you have an accident) that you have insurance. Call the insurance company, give them your name and policy number, and ask them how much the premium is, how often it is due, and whatever else you want to know.
I do know that at your age insurance is higher because of statistics – younger people tend to be more reckless drivers and have more accidents, so that the insurance companies charge higher premiums. Even if the insurance policy is in one of your parents' names, they have to declare you to be the main driver and give your age. When you get to 21 your premiums should go down a bit and when you turn 25 they'll be even lower but for now it's probably the right amount, it probably varies from one insurer to another but the principle will be the same throughout all the insurers. My son's car is registered in my name and is on my insurance policy but his car's premium is a lot higher than the one on my car even though his car's value is a lot lower than mine. That's because of his age.
get on your own insurance, move out of the house, and start living on your own if she's that bad. why don't you go to the insurance company every month, and ask them? you're an adult now. time to act like one.
Not knowing what kind of credit score the insurance is based on, what kind of car, what your driving record is like, what the policy limits are, there's no way to know. But if it's a newer car with full coverage, YOU are stealing from your MOM. $2400 a year doesn't cover more than just the liability. If you REALLY want to see what a deal they are giving you with this car they bought for you to use, call a local agent, or go to progressive.com, and get a quote for how much the insurance would cost you on your own. I think it would be closer to $3500 a year. Give mom an extra $100 a month. Source(s): agent, 21+ years
Dear Mr. Tony Soprano,You don't trust your own mother? Do you really think she would screw you out of money everymonth? If they she is paying for part of the car, and paying some of your college expenses, why would you be so paranoid?
