Is it possible to pause a car insurance but resume it again?
I want to know that if I buy car insurance, will I be able to stop the insurance so that I don't have to pay, just temporarily as I might sell my current car and until I get a new car I don't want to be paying without even having a car yet.

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters Yes you can as long as you are not driving that car or leaving it on a public street.Laws vary by city and state. Check with your DMV and your insurance agent.
You can, as long as you get your car off the street (not even parked on the street – it has to be off public roads), and NEVER drive it.I have done that for short periods while my car was broken, and I couldn't afford the repair. Usually you have to mail or fax your insurance carrier a statement saying you want to cancel coverage. Then it's often a simple phone call to get it started up again when the time comes. Give them a call and see what they need.
If you contemplate purchasing a new car your insurance will be in effect on the old car so long as you possess it. When it is sold you will then 1) cancel the policy or 2) transfer the policy to the new car. You cannot cancel unless there is an outright sale.
No. If you sell the car and no longer own one, you cancel the coverage and then get a new policy when you get a new car. The policy goes with the car.
It's probably best to actually speak to a insurance company direct with an official answer.
As long as you dont drive it, if you do you'll be caught by vehicle recognition technology
autoinsurance.bebto.com – try this one. I have their car insurance and, as I know, they can provide such a service.
