Is it obvious this guy just doesn't care?
I have a friend/ ex BF who lives far away.. but we stayed close friends when things didn't work out. We write long emails to each other back and forth always. In our last mail I told him I bought him a Christmas gift and I joked, 'it's just a little something.. you know my shopping problem' he replied, "I'm glad I don't have a shopping problem.. since I'm already skinned as it is.. and I still have some gifts to buy for xmas.. I might rob a bank' so I replied and said I mailed the gift Monday..
It's been 5 days.. and I haven't heard from him or anything.. I sent him a christmas ecard that he opened but I didn't hear anything from him.

wow, your scaring me dude. calm down…its DAMN christmas! he got party, family coming, stuff, i mean he DOES have a life you know?
Give it more time. It still is Christmas kind of. He's probably still busy with the holiday.. and who knows, maybe he got you something and put it through the mail. If not, then next year don't send something so you don't get upset over it.
It's fine! The guy doesn't have to talk to you EVERY day! Sheesh cut him some slack!
