   First answer says it all! This is fraud. An insurance company would be suspicious at best because of the change and immediate claim.You would also be paying two lots of admin fees (probably ￡40-￡60) and a windscreen excess (likely to be ￡50) so your bill is going to be three figures anyway.For that you could probably get a new windscreen!    Damage that occured to the car before it was covered by a particular policy of insurance would not be covered by the insurance.You could insure it and in order to get the windscreen fixed would have to declare it was damaged after the policy had come into effect… one teeny weeny litte problem, it's fraud!Do you feel lucky? it's up to you.

   Very easy for the insurance company to find this out and you would then be charged with fraud and probably refused further insurance from anyone.j
