Interpret this history quote?!?
why are black people enslaved? the color of people's skin only suggests a slight difference. there is no discord between day and night, the sun, the moon and between the stars and dark sky. all is varied; it is the beauty of nature. why destroy nature's work?
is this dealing with slavery as a social or economic issue.
im kind of leaning towards social.
also, please explain why?

Social. It's talking about racism and why we shouldn't treat other people differently by the colors of their skin (in this case, the black people.)
The quote is from "reflections on black people" by Olympe De Gouges in 1788. That work was written as a play entitled "Zamore et Mirza, ou l'heureux naufrage". It was eventually published as "L'Esclavage des noirs".This dealt with human rights ie egalite from a French perspective. If you read the biography of ODG the conclusion can only be social not economic.
