I hope I'm the first one to state the obvious, but beauty is not skin deep.edit: I have just watched the programme you referred to and I can now see what the real sad issue is.It came across that the people who wanted to change their appearance is because they wanted to look more Caucasian, as they felt that this is more desirable in a western society. It is the media that has made them feel this way, but they are so wrong, the same way that white Caucasians are wrong in trying to alter their appearance by cosmetic surgery. The programme hightlighted a very small minority who feel like this, but this is not the norm, as many of my friends are pround of their heritage of race. You will always find a few out of millions who will dislike themselves, but this is to be expected.Michael Jackson proves my point.
I saw a show like that on the Tyra show, it was beautiful black women who were doing CRAZY things to themselves and their kids to bleach their skin! I was shocked! I think that black women are beautiful but I can see how they might think that white is better, with racism and such. Its the whole the grass is greener on the other side thing. In my opinion, no whiter skin does not equal more beautiful.
No offence if you think that it's true, but that is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Beauty comes in all colours, and their are may people with dark skin who are far more pretty/handsome than those with fair skin.
Well most people I know prefer the people with light complexion, could be because we are always attracted most to light colors, take blonds for instance, reason why most dye their hair blond. But I believe all skin colors are beautiful.
I am fair complected and I would love to have darker skin. I think dark skinned women are the most beautiful…they have an exotic and natural beauty about them

No way, I know a lot of fair-skinned people who are beautiful and a lot of dark-skinned people who are beautiful or even more so.
Isn't that, like.. Racist? I think that all skin colours are beautiful.And. I think that anyone who thinks otherwise is very very shallow.
Absolutely not. Beauty isn't about the outward appearance. It's what's in the inside that counts. Beauty isn't about Race.
