   If you just change the coverage (liability to full coverage), no.If you change the whole company, then the policy number changes.Good Luck…

   as long as you don't change company's it stays the same,you can change cars around on it and it doesn't change,even switching it to lower type of insurance doesn't change it,changing company's though will change it,good luck. Source(s): been a certified mechanic for 37 yrs.

   With my insurance compay in India, every year when I renew the policy with the same Insurance company, I get a new policy number (as indicated in the certificate of insurance, schedule).
