I want to dye my hair dark, but I don't want to look pasty?

I've had light sandy brown hair all my life, and I don't really like my natural color. Over christmas break I was thinking of getting my hair like a dark dyed (at a salon) http://z.about0o0com/d/beauty/1/5/3/s/mila… chocolaty brown, almost black. I'm not pale, I actually have some natural color to my skin, but I'm not like really tan. I really love the look of dark brown hair and I would really think it would make my features like my eyes and facial features stand out, but I really am scared to look pasty like http://www.dailystab0o0com/blog/wp-content… Do you have any suggestions on getting dark hair. My mom doesn't really want me to, she's one of those people who thinks blonde hair is the prettiest hair color and she thinks I'm going to hate it because my sister dyed her hair black when she was my age and hated it and she thinks I'm going to waste my money and it's gonna look terrible, but I really want dark hair and I love the dark hair and I want a hot new look when I go back to school!
