Best Answer – Chosen by Voters That sounds like a cool character. I'm glad to see more female characters with more depth.
As far as unique names go, one of my favorite names is Nori. It's Japanese and it means "belief." I always thought that it sounded so graceful and beautiful but doesn't give a reader a specific idea of what the character is (for example, a stereotypical name for a cheerleader is something like Stacy or a stereotypical name for a woman of the fields and hard labor is Bertha). Nori is free from stereotypes and it's just pretty and stands out. There's also Razi- also distinct. I though of this one because you said that she secretly looks up to her older brother and Razi is Hebrew for "my secret."Then there are the Latin and Greek names:Faline, which is Latin and means "like a cat"Tavia, which a shortening of Octavia, which is the feminine form of "eighth."Abihail is also Latin, albeit I'm not sure what it means.Valerian, also Latin, also unsure of what it means.Adrienne (Greek)Alessa (Greek)Carin/Caryn (Greek)Uncommon Names That Aren't Too Far-Fetched:EliseMikaEsperanzaAddisonAdeleWillowWhitneyOfelia/OpheliaRoselynI'm sorry that I don't know what the Greek names mean, but I always thought that those were beautiful names. I hope that you find one that you like even if these don't help you. Good luck on your story. She really does seem like a cool character.
Source(s): I've taken Latin for three years and some of these names are just ones that I've used or like and seem to fit the character.
Well, if her brother's name is Troy, maybe her parents gave her an ancient sounding name as well. Remember, no one knows what a baby will grow up to be like when it's born and named. You could try something likeAriadne, but she calls herself "Andi" which sounds like a boy's name.Or Penelope, but she uses Pen or Penny. Or Stephanie, but she uses Steve or Stevie. gypsy's Davina is good, because she could call herself Davie.
Ummm… how about Azalea? I read a book once (I can't remember what it was called) but the main character's little sister was called Azalea. It's a type of flower, and it's not really Greek, but I thought the name just sounded so pretty =)Sorry I couldn't be of more help!!xx
